One Mile Walks Crowborough

The town of Crowborough is located in East Sussex, close to the Kent border, 30 miles from London and 20 miles from the South Coast. It has a population of about 22,000 and new housing developments are attracting more people to the area. Surrounded by the High Weald National Landscape, and on the edge of the Ashdown Forest – the largest open access area in the South East of England, there is no shortage of beautiful countryside nearby.

The Walks

Rather than suggest that people must travel to find great places to walk, One Mile Walks has made use of the many recreation grounds, parks and open spaces within the town. The eight walks in the Crowborough series of One Mile Walks are all close to where people live or can reach without leaving the town.

There are eight walks in the Crowborough series including woodland walks, local streets and footpaths, a town centre circuit, a walk through a local recreation ground and one which tips into the Ashdown Forest. For many people these will be places known and loved, but others may have never have considered these as great locations for a walk.

The Booklet

As well as being a resource for Crowborough, the booklet of walks is the first example of One Mile Walks and the supporting information we produce. We welcome feedback on the information provided and what else would be useful to include.
