Welcome to the One Mile Walks library
We are just getting going, more walks coming soon. For now see how we are developing the walks and the access and facilities information we provide.
Walshes Park, Crowborough
Just over a mile through this stunning park with wetlands, historic sites, meadows, tree avenues, far reaching views and sculptures. With good paths and lovely scenery this space is an absolute gem!
The Ghyll, Crowborough
Just under one mile through the pretty Ghyll Nature Reserve and back via Forest Rise. You’ll need a steady foot through the woods and the climb up from the ghyll is uneven and steep.
Crowborough Country Park
The walk through this former quarry is about half a mile, but with a peaceful path through lush woodland and wildlife ponds it had to be included. For just over a mile do two loops or turn back at the top pond for just under.
Crowborough Common
A pleasant walk on quiet lanes and through woods to the golf course on Crowborough Common.
Chapel Green, Crowborough
A one mile walk around the town from Croft Road to lovely Chapel Green and The Broadway. Passing shops and entirely on pavements alongside roads you’ll not be too far from other people.
Jeffery’s Wood, Crowborough
Just under one mile through Jubilee Meadow, into Jeffery’s Wood to the Ghyll and back via Green Lane. You’ll need a steady foot through the woods, which are rich with wildlife, beautiful wildflowers and a pretty stream.
Goldsmiths, Crowborough
A lovely walk on paved paths in this well used park with excellent facilities and stunning views across Sussex and into Kent. The walk is 0.7 miles or for a mile add a loop of the path around the outside of the running track.
St John’s, Crowborough
Just over a mile through lush woodland, into the Ashdown Forest and back along roads. This walk is reasonably flat underfoot, other paths not on the route but shown on the map are considerably more uneven.
