Gravetye Path 3

Wide gravel road

Accessible for some wheelchairs
Good gravel/ stone track which is shared with vehicles accessing Home Farm and the residential properties. There are some grooves made by tyres and some holes have been filled with tarmac. The track is quiet, has good visibility and is restricted to 20mph – though there is no speed signage on this track. The path from Home Farm is 3.5 metres wide which is too narrow to allow vehicles to pass wheelchairs with a 2 metre clearance. There are potential passing places where there is path is widened to 5.5 metres if including usable verge. The last 20 metres to the Manor Driveway are wider than 5.5 metres. The gradient rises to 10.5% towards the junction with the manor driveway. For the majority of the path the cross fall is approximately 1%, though higher on the grooves. There is a short section with a bump up (drainage feature) from the gravel surface to a concrete surface. The concrete feature extends across the road and has a short section where the gradient rises up to 12% with a cross fall of about 1%, and up to 9% on the left side, but this is avoidable.

This is approximately 120 metres long with a surface
The path camber For the majority cross fall is approximately 1%. Uneven camber on the left hand side of the small section of concrete
The narrowest point: 350 cm wide
Steepest gradient: 12% (1:8.3)
