This is a tarmac surfaced access road for the Kingscote Vineyard and therefore it is likely that pedestrians will meet vehicles. The road is mostly 3m wide, narrowing in places to 2.5m. There are passing places at least every 100m, at the junction of the Kingscote Estate and Birch Farm access road, and if using the driveway entrances of Brookbank Cottage (less than 5 metres wide) and Holly Tree Cottage. The gradient at the junction with Path 9 and 10 is about 9%, and a maximum of about 6% for the rest to the path. The cross fall at the junction is upto 9%, for the majority of the road is between 3% and 5%, rising in places to 6.5%. There is a speed bump with steep sides, of up to 40% which creates an uncomfortable obstacle. There are some potholes, which are avoidable. This path is a right of way yet there is a sign to Birch Farm, stating 'access only' which may deter some walkers from using this road to enter the Gravetye Estate.
