From the information board by the Kingscote Layby car park the path is a tarmac road shared with vehicles, with a cross fall of up to 6% and gradient up to 5%. The road is 3.5 metres wide, so cars cannot pass wheelchairs safely. The path is wider than 5.5 metres next to the layby, there is a small drop from the road to the layby. After the layby heading north there is a 40 metre stretch of road before the next passing place at path 23.
