At the Kingscote Cottages end of the path there is a 20% gradient drop. The path is 1 metre wide and made of large stones in compacted mud. The path reduces to about 50cm with a cross fall of less than 3% gradient less than 5%. The path widens to 1.5 metres, then 2 metres towards the crossroads. People entering the path from the Kingscote Driveway side may expect it to remain the same width and quality, but it changes to become narrow and difficult to pass.
